Our gins use the bounty of our wild and rugged landscape. We combine the traditional dry gin flavours of juniper and coriander, angelica and cardamom with the richness of sloe berries found growing in the valleys. We add warmth using bilberries found flourishing low to the ground on the high moorland as they escape the harsh weather. We round this off with a honeyed sweetness from moorland heather and gorse that adorn the slopes around our distillery.
HAND SOURCED & HAND-CRAFTED
Creating a premium gin takes real commitment, time, energy, experimentation and craft. Our ultimate goal is to deliver exceptional gins that capture the essence, authenticity and spirit of the Peak District in a bottle.
ONLY THE PUREST BOTANICALS
We’ve used the best classic gin botanicals and mixed them with local fruits and flowers to create our unique twist on the classic London Dry Gin.
OUR BASE SPIRIT
For our gin base we’ve searched for the highest quality, UK-grown, grain-based alcohol for our still.
FRESH SPRING WATER
The water we use comes directly from a natural spring that leaves the hillsides just behind our distillery. This water filters through layers of ancient rock, sand and shale, it is then triple filtered for purity. As it journeys through the landscape it takes on a slight sparkle that translates to a smooth, refreshing gin, which has a distinctive finish and palate sensation.
LAYERS OF AROMA & FLAVOUR
REVEALED IN EVERY SIP
1. SEVILLE ORANGE
Seville orange gives a soft citrus edge to create a multi-layered gin that reveals a wealth of zesty aromas and flavours in every sip.
2. HEATHER & GORSE
Used in small amounts, these Peak District flowers work up-front with citrus to create strata of fragrances and flavours.
Nuanced and complex once distilled, coriander delivers a spicy, citrus and nutty flavour all at the same time. Wonderful.
4. CARDAMOM SEED
Adding spice and depth to our gins and working in harmony with the juniper and citrus.
5. JUNIPER BERRIES
A defining ingredient of all gins, our berries give a classic freshness to balance the warmer sloe berries. Juniper creates the fresh pine aroma you can smell in our gins.
6. ANGELICA ROOT
One of the ‘Holy Trinity’ of gin botanicals. The dried angelica root marries the flavours of our gin and imparts a dry, woody and earthy muskiness.
A local and unique berry that reveals its nose and flavour as the gin warms in the mouth.
8. SLOE BERRIES
A freezing process ruptures the berries evenly to release their flavour and sweetness creating a smooth and defining finish.
